21 So Far…

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

My parents came to visit and take us out for dinner for my birthday… We went to a very cute little restaurant with great (but expensive) food. They ordered a bottle of wine… poured me a glass… so I drank it so it wouldn’t go to waste… It wasn’t bad… but I still say that when you can taste the alcohol it isn’t good… The restaurant gave me a small chocolate cake… it was very good. My parents also brought a cake for us to have… hopefully we can get a hold of some friends to come over and eat some with us… :smile I also got a lot of presents that were great… I got Beaches on DVD, the case for my new sewing machine, a new comforter and sheets, some cash and a few cards… If anything else exciting happens I will be sure to let you all know. Thanks to everyone who sent e-cards or wished me a happy birthday! :grin

Mid-Mid-Life Crisis…

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

Ahhhh as of today I am 21…. It’s so wierd to think about yourself getting older… I’m pretty sure this is the samw for most people but I won’t assume… I know for me I don’t notice myself changing… I forget a lot that I am 21… I don’t feel any different than I did in high school… yet when I see a group of high school kids… I know that I am not like that… It is wierd to know that this means that this year my oldest sister will turn 27…. 27? That then makes me realize that my parents are turning 53 this year… Everyone is turning an age that seems too old for them!!!!!!! Welll I guess it is a good thing that I don’t feel old… maybe I can make that feeling last until my real mid-life crisis rolls around… :smile

Morning….

Friday, January 17th, 2003

Well considering it is 7:21am…. I’m not feeling too bad… :smile I get to go to work for a nice short four hour shift, then I am done for the whole weekend… yippee….. I’m lacking motivation to do other things I need to do unfortunatly… like cleaning my room…. ugh… Ohwell… maybe I will have some motivation later… Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Bloggin’ Lovefest!!

Tuesday, January 14th, 2003

It was hard to pick someone to highlight someone for blog lovefest day… But I had to go with one of the first non-family member that I know to start regularly reading my blog. She found me after I signed up for blogsnob and has been stopping by to give me hugs and advise ever since.

Maria has become a definite roll model for me as a blogger. She embodies what I think is the perfect honor code among bloggers. She is always honest, speaks from the heart and is never afraid to say what needs to be said. I admire her loyalty and dedication to those she reads. She is never afraid to stand up for a friend when the need arises, yet she will never go out of her way to slam someone down. Her blog just seems to radiate confidence in herself and in her friends.

I am amazed at how regularly she is able to visit and leave comments… Her read list is long… and I have no doubt that she makes it to almost all of them everyday… For those who are lucky enough to be on that list you know that almost daily you can expect some words of encouragement, love or just some good thoughts from Maria…

There is so much more I would like to say… but mostly… Thank you Maria… for being a great person to get to know and a true role model for other bloggers.
