Easter Time

Saturday, April 19th, 2003

I love Easter… it is such an important time in my church and everything about the season just makes me giddy!!! Yippy!!!

Tonight is the big Easter celebration at church, my parents are coming and there is a big dinner afterwards!! Happy me!! The bad thing is that is raining right now… Church starts outside on Easter, we make a fire, bless is and light the Easter Candle from it… the hard part will be getting the lit candle from outside to inside without it going out in the rain… Lets all pray and hope it works out!

Hope everybody has a wonderful Easter!

Saturday Scruples

1. An elderly friend is lonely. He talks in an endless monologue. Do you continue the friendship out of sympathy?

I continue the friendship, but not out of sympathy. You can learn a lot from elderly people, even those who seem like they are just rambling. I loved spending time with my grandma during her last few months even though she didn’t always make sense… I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.

2. On a cold spring day, you drive through a puddle and soak a pedestrian. Do you stop to make mends?

In general I drive around puddles or go slowly through them so I don’t splash people…. I’m not sure what I would do… I would certainly feel bad, but depending on the situation I may or may not stop.

3. You think your “ex” is lower than a snake. Do you show your kids how you feel about their parent?

If my ex is the father of my children and I hate him that is my problem not theirs. They can form their own opinions and I will vent to my friends… or journal… or something. The kids don’t need to feel like crap because I do.

1. Who is your favorite celebrity?
Dean Koontz… not a big celebrity… but he is my favorite author and he is famous… so good enough! :)

2. Who is your least favorite?
Eminem; the lyrics of most of his music disgusts me… Notice I said the lyrics. The man is very talented, but I do not think a song about beating your wife is appropriate in any way!!

3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?
I have been to a lot of Country Music concerts, 3-4 of which had good meet and greets afterwards, but that is about the extent of it.

4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?
First I am not a big fan of being rich, my biggest fantasy is to always have enough money to be comfortable. I just don’t see a reason for the excess. Secondly… I hate how I look in pictures or on camera, I hate the way my voice sounds on camera, and I hate being judged before people know me… All things that happen regularly when you are famous.

5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?
Jada Pinkett Smith simlpy because she seems happy. She has a successful career, her husband has a successful career, they are still married and the tabloids are fairly nice to them.

This or That

1. File taxes as early as possible, or wait until the last possible minute?
My parents still handle mine

2. File electronically, or mail paper forms?
Paper Forms

3. Prepare your own taxes, or have someone do it for you?
My parents have someone do theirs because of our business

4. Are you a saver or a spender?
I would like to save but I normally don’t have enough to…. I do spend more than I should though

5. Do you prefer to carry cash, or pay with plastic (credit/debit cards), or by check?
Normally everything goes into my checking account and I use the “credit card” attached to my account.

6. You’re broke and desperately need a job, but the only places that are hiring are retail or fast food places. Which would you pick?
Retail… That is where I have spent my whole life working… I vowed to never work food and so far I have been able to keep that vow. I can pick up clothes… but something about all the grease just makes me squeemish.

7. Keeping track of your money: are you more meticulous or careless about it?
Me and Microsoft Money get together daily for a review of how broke I am!

8. What do you do if you find yourself with a lot of change weighing down your purse/pocket/wallet? Do you try to spend it to *get rid of it*, or do you put it in a jar or a piggy bank?
If they are quarters I save them somewhere for laundery… otherwise they go in a piggy bank.

9. Which form of fake money do you like better…Monopoly money or those chocolate coins covered with gold foil?
I am a woman!!! Chocolate!!!!

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You find a wallet containing $5,000 in cash, as well as several credit cards and the owner’s drivers’ license. Your rent is due tomorrow and you’re short $200. Do you take the money (some or all of it) and mail back the wallet anonymously…or do you return the wallet with all contents intact?
I return the wallet with everything in it… but I deliver it personally secretly hoping for a little reward… :)
