Here goes nothing….

Well I am up and ready for my first day on the job…. My cooperating teacher was really busy last week, trying to get all sorts of stuff done before I came to help… So I wasn’t able to come in at all before… So I think I am more scared about not knowing how things work than anything else… But at the same time I can’t be expected to know much either I guess… I went to bed at a fairly decent time… 10:30 I think… So hopefully I won’t get totally exhausted by the end of the day… but I probably will be anyway. I will try to be sure to fill you all in when I get home… I hope everyone has a great day!

Begin real world….

Well this is my last weekend… My last weekend before I start my internship…. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ok. Breath!

Sunday (the 18th) was my birthday, I had a great day. Jason bought me a new case for my computer, it is pretty. He also got me a Dairy Queen ice cream cake… that was nummy!!!! And we went to see Cheaper by the Dozen… great movie!!!

Three weeks from today Jason leaves for his semester abroad… that is really scary… We went and bought him a bunch of new clothes and looked at bags…. We were thinking of getting him one of those hiking backpacks because a lot of people who have gone on semester abroad say they work better than carrying a suitcase or something, but the people at Gander Mountain said that you can’t check those bags at the airport…. But the woman there showed us a really cool duffel bag that has some backpack straps… it isn’t as comfortable as a hiking backpack would be… but you can wheel it when you are on nice ground, you can carry it sometimes… and if you really need to you can use it as a backpack… it sounds cool but I think we will go with Jason’s parents this weekend to look at them some more… :)
Other than that nothing is really new…. Just preparing to start having a real job…. ahhhhhhhhhh

Entry #301…

Ok… so it’s been a month… what’s your point?? :)
Lots have happened in that month… The first big thing since then was that I got an internship. Next semester, instead of student teaching, I will be doing an internship in ESL (English as a Second Language). This means I won’t really have my own class or even a particular grade, I will be teaching small groups of students at a time and they will range from grade k-6…. :) I am very excited… particularly because this meant that I got to quit ShopKo… :) No more retail work for me!!!

I also took a trip to Jamaica. I left on the 5th of Jan and just got back on the 12th… :) It was an amazingly intense trip. I went to build houses and stuff like that. Jamaica is the 2nd poorest country in this hemisphere and it shows. The houses we built were about 12 by 12, that would be for a family of 6 or so… they are only one square room and that is it. We also visited two orphanages… that was really hard…. the children were so adorable… I wanted to take them all home with me…. and adopting from Jamaica isn’t particulary hard either….

Christmas and Jason’s birthday were in there somewhere as well. Christmas was great… J got me a digital camera… the same one he has… so now I will stop stealing his…. My birthday is coming up this Sunday… and J bought me a new case for my computer… I had a mini case which means it was really skinny and that meant it was hard to upgrade… so we moved everything into a normal size case and now my comp has lots of room to breath and expand if I ever have the money to do so…

I also got some wedding stuff done…. Two of the four bridesmaids have their dresses ordered… the flower girl/min. bride is going to order hers soon…. I have what I think is about 80% of a list of guests…. I just really need to get started on cake, flowers and invitations…. ugh… details stink….

I promise to try to be a little more regular… really… :)
