61 Days…

Monday, June 5th, 2006

Things seem to be going well for Jason in Mombasa… class started today… he didn’t have time to write much about it, but he said it went well… internet connections there are slow… he is going to try to get me a few pictures sometime… and I will post them, he has also promised an attempt at a post on his own blog at some point…

Friday I am leaving for WI… Heads up to all up there… I am going to a friends wedding shower, Aaron if you read this don’t tell her… it will be more fun if she doesn’t know… :)   I’m going to stay in WI until Monday morning… Penny is going to Connie’s house for the weekend and Lucy will be traveling with me… I bought her a puppy seatbelt, it will be interesting to see how that works.

We are supposed to get storms tonight… I scared of storms… but hopefully they won’t be too bad… :)   Tornado shelter is ready to go… :)

Email…

Today I got a longer email from J… It made me feel much better… He is in Mombasa now, not Dar es Salaam anymore… He didn’t have much time to write about his trip to Mombasa or his new place… besides to say he saw a lot of donkeys and a few monkeys on his trip…

He spent more time telling me about his last few days in Dar… besides interacting with strangers and other scarey things it didn’t sound too bad… The diet coke is better in Africa than in Europe… The Fanta is relaly good… and he had some fun with a 6 yr old girl who I think might be like an adopted daughter to his professor…   On the down side were things like toilets with no seats… just holes… scarey cab rides… places that don’t take credit card… strangers….

Smile… I feel a little better now.. :)

65 days…

65 days left until Jason gets home… He is having a pretty hard time right now… he feels bad about how much this trip is starting to cost us out of pocket…. its just a lesson for next time to be sure he was given MORE than enough $….

I have a busy day at work… I hope it wont be too bad… :)

I saw a woman today with a small kid and she was also very obviously pregnant… she was smoking… it should be legal to smack these people upside the head and say duh!!!!!!!!!!!

Side note… some parents also need to learn to control their children or take them out of situations if they are currently not controleable (i can’t spell that word)…
