Vegas Review
Posted in Randomness on 08/14/2007 06:46 am by DebAnnSo Jason and I took our last trip to Vegas before he heads off to Germany… It was a fun and relaxing trip, which was nice. Abbie had to work Thursday and Friday so we hung out around her place and relaxed during the day. While we were there we went to three different shows: “Wayne Brady; Making @*it Up,” “Penn & Teller,” and “Love.” Here is a breakdown of my opinions on these…
Wayne Brady-
This was the only show we went to that wasn’t planned before we left on vacation. It was a last minute idea thanks to Jason spotting the sign for it at the airport…. IT ROCKED… This was my favorite show of the weekend. Wayne was amazing, funny and entertaining… and great to look at!! Jason went up on stage to participate in the game where humans are the prop… it was him and three bimbos who didn’t do much so he was the prop for almost everything… he got to hug Wayne’s leg and lay on his back…. I am jealous!!! Before the show we all made up song titles and submitted them, Wayne would turn them into real songs… Jason’s song got selected as well… “The Ballad of Marlon Brando” done reggae style… Jason was the “all star” of the night as Wayne put it! Anyway, again an amazing show… did not help my Wayne addiction, just encouraged it! (he is sooooo hot!)
Penn & Teller
This was a show that Jason said he wanted to see next time to Vegas… so we did. We had watched their show Bullsh*t on TV and really enjoyed their humor and style so we thought it would be fun… and it was… It was a little slow paced, non-climactic for me… but the tricks were still good and entertaining, they are really good at what they do, especially the bullet in the teeth trick! Well done! Although sometimes I do get a little sick of Penn… if only just once he would shut up and Teller would talk! You get the chance to meet both Penn & Teller after the show… Teller will talk… The lines were too long for us so we just went home… Good show, not great… would do it again but pay for the cheap seats.
Love
This is the Cirque show based on the music of the Beatles. I loved it… it was great. The music and the lights all worked together so well. The theatre was awesome and we had awesome seats… a little too close if anything, it got to be hard to follow everything that was happening… Not as impressive Cirque-wise, compared to other shows I have seen (O, Zumanity and Mystere) A lot more dancing and less Cirque than those shows but still impressive and fun.
