There is no job too big or too small for Penny and Lucy Excavation Services!
The right hand side of our back yard had a big drift, probably 3-4feet high in some areas. While Penny was here and Lucy was in WI, Penny just left that area of the yard alone and didn’t go over there… Well Lucy insists on patrolling the entire perimeter of our yard… and the drift was in her way… So she enlisted Penny to help her… and over the last week they have successfully eliminated almost the entire drift… except for one small pile they are still working on… Penny will do a bunch of digging… then foreman Lucy will sniff the area thoroughly, dig a little at it… then have Penny go back to do the heavy digging… It is so funny watching them tackle this project.

I took a creativity/art quiz that Rachel suggested… I think it is fairly accurate… except the part about my creativity being dark…
You can take the quiz here!
I am a Happy Dabbler:
About me:
Your creativity lies in everyday objects. You don’t need to roll up your sleeves or embark on a major project to get creative. And in fact you may not have much time for grand artistic schemes. But you still find plenty of ways to express yourself in your daily life. It’s just a natural reflection of who you are.
You like to immerse yourself in another world, switch off and live another life… It doesn’t take much to fire up your imagination!
How I create:
You unleash your creativity by putting pen to paper. An avid doodler, experimenting with your ideas gives you the freedom to make your mistakes – all part of the process.
It’sall about beinga ble to find your space to think… Being out in the wild offers organic beauty.
Your strength lies in your vivid imagination. A natural visonary, you’re always coming up with inventive ideas, even when you’re meant to be working on something else!
How I think:
Deep down, you have a curious spirit and like exploring new places and ideas.
You’re pretty fearless and willing to take creative risks to achieve the right results. Your work tends to have a darker edge that adds real depth.

So we took our trip to Florida, and now we are back in frozen Iowa… WOW… Cold!
The trip to Fl was nice, the drive down started a little stressful for me as we hit darkness and rain in the mountains…. I freak out enough on the mountains as it is but add rain and darkness and I am a basket case. I just reclined my seat and stuck my head into my iPhone and read Google reader… it worked a little, I think it saved J quite a bit of annoyance…
Actually being in Fl is always nice… Just relaxing around my parents house and the fly-in is fun. There was a lot more flying action at the fly-in this time so it was fun to golf cart down to the runway and watch lots of cool planes take off and land… I also think that with some help from my dad I can now actually identify a Cessna in the air or on the ground, but unlike him I still have no clue which Cessna it is….

On Sunday the 11th, Jason ran the Disney Marathon… His original goal after the Potsdam Marathon was to beat what he got there… He got 4hrs 5min there… so he was looking for being solidly in front of 4hrs… Then his goal was revised to 3:45… and most recently, within weeks of the marathon, he started to aim for beating 3:30… Well his final chip time was 3:25:49!!! So he whooped all his goals and then some! I was happy, and it was fun running around the Disney complex to get glimpses of him along the way, something we definitely didn’t get to do in Germany. There were 15,000 runners in the marathon and Jason was in the top 3%, not bad…

Then came time to leave eventually… Car rides with only Penny and not Penny and Lucy are so much more peceful, Penny is so well behaved compared to Lucy… no crying, yelping or barking, it was amazing… So the ride home was uneventful, we went through the mountains during the day with no precipitation… We spent the night in Metropolis, Illinois… you know, where Superman is from… Then made it home by 3pm the next day…

Now we are back in Iowa, freezing to death… Rachel and James took care of things at the house while we were gone… James rocked the snow blower in the driveway while Rachel fell on the ice and got attacked by my cat… It was definitely nice to be able to pull right in the driveway without spending hours shoveling so we could get in!

Don’t worry, I’m not behind on Prject 365 by day three… I just left my purse with my camera at bible study last night… and with the roads less than perfect I didn’t go back immediatly. I will get it back today and post the pretty Penny picture I took yesterday.
Tomorrow we head out bright and early for FL, we will stay the night in Chattanooga… we will hopefully get there relatively early in the night, and that will leave us with about 8 hours of driving to do on Tuesday… So posting could be sporadic until we get back in about a week and a half or so…

I seem to be coming down with a cold… Probably the same one that was hanging out at my in-laws house over Christmas… So, other than going with Jason to the gym, most of my day has been spent inside despite the beautiful weather on this January day. At least I can enjoy the sunlight streaming through the windows.

Project 365 – 1/365
Once a week Jason and I have dinner at the Olive Garden. It is an easy way for him to get a large number of calories to replenish after a long run… I usually get the cheese ravioli with no extra cheese on top and the marinara on the side… This often confuses the wait staff. Except for our regular waitress, Marti, she has both our orders down solid… and she doesn’t look at Jason weird as he asks for his 3rd bowl of soup or salad….
